Storytelling in
virtual worlds

30.03. – 31.03.2017

DE | EN

Virtual reality allows its audience to immerse into the happening and to become part of a virtual world. It provides new narrative opportunities.

Our event welcomes everyone interested in sounding out the limits and opportunities of storytelling in virtual worlds, together with us and renowned experts.

Virtual realities typically evoke astonishment, fascination und euphoria. However, VR has more to offer than only impressive effects. Experiencing virtual reality allows a close proximity to the happening which enables viewers to gain unprecedented impressions and perspectives that otherwise would remain inaccessible. At the same time, the local presence and the free view that VR offers its audience, is posing new challenges to filmmakers. For a long-term relevance of VR, its added value has to be distinctive. In order to max out the opportunities VR has to offer, the dialogue between producers and audience is decisive. In the course of the LICHTER Filmfestival in Frankfurt, our event aims to promote this exchange.

The following awaits you:

During a two-day trade fair, you are given the opportunity to learn about tools for VR productions and to receive advisory services. Moreover, regional actors will present their projects and prototypes. The motto will be: exchanging ideas, networking and getting inspired!

On 30 March, 2017, renowned experts from the field of Virtual Reality will speak on their findings and experiences concerning storytelling in virtual worlds. Our speakers will be pleased to answer your questions and look forward to discussing opportunities and problems about storytelling with you. Participating in the conference is free of charge. However, we would ask you to register prior to the event. Participation for non-registered visitors cannot be guaranteed.

Both on Thursday and Friday ZDF Digital experts are on hand to answer your questions concerning VR conceptions, 360°-video production, interactive VR and platform strategy. They are looking forward to a constructive dialogue with you.
